Energy Assistance

Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (EHEAP) provides assistance for home energy emergencies to low-income households (based on federally established poverty income guidelines for the household size) in which elderly individuals aged 60 years and over, reside. After EHEAP applications are completed and income determination for eligibility is made, assistance is provided on a “first come, first served” basis until available funds are depleted.

An eligibility household is limited to receipt of only one crisis benefit from EHEAP or Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program during the heating season and one crisis benefit during the cooling season regardless of the amount of assistance provided.
